Game Elements
Game Elements
After reading about the Game Design Research Article (1) I found myself lost and confused a lot because the writer of the post made very long and confusing words. The post also was plain and reminded me of a newspaper article. I didn't enjoy reading this article but I did find some useful info from it such as "Many design guidebooks have been written by the game industry actors working on commercial game productions". (1) I didn't know this because I haven't really ever read any design guide books. The only guide I have really ever followed is the guide I use for things such as illustrator, unity and photo shop.
When I read the second source I found myself enjoying the read more because it wasn't filled with much crazy words and it was fairly to the point. I like how the article said That a critical review of a game is a thorough and unbiased review of a game. I like this point because it gives the creator a sense of clarity of where their improvements may lay and what they can add or remove or even change withing the game to make it more appealing to a wider audience of people. After watching the video they said that the best way to get started on your ideas is to make a prototype first. I agree with this because a prototype gives you a sen sense of where the game is at and what it could turn into by the end product. They also said you can draw the game on paper. I like this idea because it will show you your idea in a visual matter. After they were done prototyping in whatever way they did it they put down basic code for the game so they can run and test out some aspects of it. They mentioned that when prototyping you may discover new ideas for your game. I like that they mentioned this because it will make people want to make prototypes because this way they can evolve their idea. (3)
