Game Idea Research
From my previous blog, I have given some thought on what I wanted to do. I decided to go with the following idea taken from my previous blog
"For this idea I want the player to experience an open world like in GTA where you can drive around in the cars of your choice. In this game I want to create a map where there are coins or some thing scattered around the map. The map will have ramps and building with hidden coins. There will also be score which will award the player with coins currency which they can later use to get faster cars. An example of why you would want a faster car is not only because It's faster and cooler, but it will also allow player to get other coins that only a certain car can obtain. Let's say there is a ramp with a coin in the air. A slow car cannot reach the coin but a faster and better car can reach the coin. With the coins you can also customize whatever vehicle you have.
Inspiration for this game are the stunt jumps scattered around the map on GTA V. You can find GTA here ( https://www.rockstargames.com/V/restricted-content/agegate/form?redirect=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rockstargames.com%2FV%2F&options=&locale=en_us ) "
I decided to go with this idea because I feel like a driving game is something that I feel comfortable making and it shouldn't be complicated. I also chose this because I thought about the process of making it and I really was looking forward to making the map that the player would be driving around.
I also chose this idea because I spent a lot of my childhood playing racing games and I feel I should have a sense of how the game should work.I played games Like Dirt 1+ 2 + 3, driv3r, gta, bike race on mobile, need for speed and many more i can think of off the top of my head.
(Picture of the bike race logo and is taken from their facebook page at the following link3 or more mechanics I could use is steering. speed control of different speeds, a shop, and objects that you can crash into/go through.
Steering : Going left or right
speed control: control the speed from 0-200 etc
a shop: A shop would be a place the player can buy upgrades to their car or buy a different car with the coins they collect.
Objects: This could be the car crashing through a window and crashing into an obstacle such as a box or wall.
I love your idea for your game, it seems very open and fun and you're not tied down to one objective while playing which seems like it will keep the player interested for a lot longer. I loved racing games growing up, the dirt games were also some of my favourites and I could spend hours playing them.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with creating your game and generating more ideas :)

Yoooo this game idea seems really creative and could actually end up being a difficult process like for example how big are you going to make the world and what will you add to make it difficult? Sounds like a great idea though and I look forward to seeing how it turns out and hope to play it at some point.
ReplyDeleteHey Endijs,
ReplyDeleteI feel like a world of GTA will be difficult to make as its really big but you can make on a smaller scale with uploaded assets as I feel like making them from scratch will complicate the project for you as it may take long. This reminds me of simulators I play on Roblox. I can’t wait for more posts from you on this blog.
