Project Progress Presenting my game

Image
PROJECT PROGRESS AND PRESENTING MY GAME This week I finished building my game in unity. The process was a long few weeks but it is finally over and I have a finished game to show for it. The first week when I started on the game I had to create a document where I spoke about what I want my game to be about and I wrote about different styles/genres of games that I could make in unity. The next week I made a shorter but more refined document on my final game idea that I wanted to stick with where I chose to do an "Endless Runner" game. The week after that I went into detail about the game in a GDD or "Game Design Document". In this document I spoke about game physics, objects and other things about the game. Since the last blog post about my game I didn't change much in the game as I felt it was all already good enough I just made sure that there were no crazy bugs that would be annoying to deal with if you were the player. The game is playable in my opinion and u

Project Progress ( Beta )

Project Progress Beta and Alpha progress and how the game is doing so far This week I made huge progress on my game and it is in a very good state right now that I am very happy with and the game is very playable now. I had created a background for my game and the design I went with was a cave vibe as the title of my game is "Ruby stuck in cave endless runner". I used ruby from unity's ruby's adventure game for my player asset as I couldn't make a good looking player asset for my game that I would be happy with. I created an obstacle which the player has to avoid so that the person doesn't die and fail the game. The background in my game resets continuously so that it looks like the game is moving forward forever and ever. Ruby is in a still point and she can only move up and down to avoid getting hit by the obstacles that are coming her way.The whole principle of the game right now is that ruby is stuck in a cave and she needs to find a way out but there is

Tech task 3+4 (11) Google Timer and Google Reverse Image search

Tech task 3+4 (11) This week for the extra tasks I tried using google reverse image search which is actually a really cool and useful tool that google offers and the second task I did was the google timer one. I was catching up on assignments this week and the google timer helped me keep track of taking breaks every once in a while whielst I was doing project work such as editing the video for documentary film making.  The reverse Image search tool is really useful to find the original image from something and it's a great way to gather more information with whatever image you are searching with as similar images will be searched.

READING 12 (BOOK)

My chapter in the book reflection In this blog post I will go through the chapter that I did for the book we did as a class. The chapter that I decided to work on was called "How game help people find joy and fullfillment". Looking back now I should've done something that I could go into more detail about because the chapter ended up being fairly short but I still think it was a great chapter for what it was. I talked about why people feel happy while playing games and how it effects them. I also created a small illustration for my chapter which is an image that you'll see below this blog post. I personally had a hard time understanding the reading tasks for the book this semester as I felt they were very jumbled and I had to search for my own readings to do which made me unmotivated as I felt it was hard for me to be able to search for exactly that I needed and when I did search I always ended up finding useless information that may be false and misleading. I liked b

2D Game Prototype ( Project Progress )

2D Game Prototype As I have mentioned in previous blogs I will be doing my 2D game as a endless runner. Using illustrator I made a quick prototype of my game and how it will function and the basic look of it. I put the score tracker in the top right of the player screen. As you can see in the image below I have briefly explained the rules of the game as the player has to jump over spikes to avoid a game  over and they should not jump if they see a floating ball spike as if they jump it will also result in a game over. In this game these objects will be moving into the playing field from the right side of the screen and the player has to time their actions to be able to avoid these objects to survive and keep their score to getting higher. The player design is not final but it is there to show what the player has to do. I'm hoping this prototype furthers your knowledge of what my game will be like. In my opinion I'm liking where the idea is going as the game is simple but very
